Senator Bennett's Rural Business Conference
April 26th, 2006Last Thursday I spoke in two sessions at Senator Bob Bennett's fifth Rural Business conference. This year it was held in Vernal.
My first presentation was about blogging. Here is my blogging powerpoint. I discussed the reasons I love to blog. They are:
- Increases my business web presence
- I get to Vote for web pages (affect Googles search engine rankings)
- Forces me to learn (stay sharp) and share
- I get to know other bloggersthey are influential!
- Get smarter from reader comments
- Make new connections
- Get writing/speaking opportunities
- Attract more visitors from search engines
- Make it easy for old friends/colleagues to find me
- Find great new employees
My second lecture was about the future of internet marketing (powerpoint).
I'm only posting this so the attendees can download these powerpoints. I don't think they will be too meaningful to anyone else.

Paul,
I'd like to review the two powerpoint presentations you mentioned in this post, but neither link works. Just a heads up!

Thanks for taking the time to join Senator Bennett at the Rural Business Summit in Vernal. There are a lot of folks with websites in rural Utah, but few understand how to use the Internet to add value to their business. If you have a minute, why don't you send me an email. I'm working on an entrepreneurship initiative in Kanab and would like to compare notes.

Paul, thanks for the reasons you blog and for the great PowerPoints. Isolation is a big issue for rural business people, and the internet and blogs are powerful tools to beat isolation. In fact, rural small business is the focus of my blog. I'm still working on becoming the "world expert"! Thanks for sharing.
